Suppose you're sitting in the pitch dark depths of despair, despondency, desolation, and depression, he has you. He has you on the street with your mini dress, your stockings and a wig that itches your scalp.
He has you on that road, in the frigid weather, in the heat capable of frying eggs, recounting past, present and what the future may hold. Your loneliness, he uses. He uses your grief for brother, father, sister, cat, or dog—suicidal ideology—all of it is his playground.
He has you on the street corner strolling through the desert of abandonment, rejection, and poverty, illness and loss. I, myself, have fallen prey to his tactics, schemes of self-flagellation, self-loathing and self-pity. I’ve sensed in the midst of my hurt and pain–your death would be unparalleled.
I’ve gotten dressed and stood on the corner many times in my anguish and agony. Yeshua, my Shepherd, beholds me and leaves the 99 sheep to retrieve me when I acknowledge Him and not the other.
The broken man falls headlong into the pit where Satan celebrates man’s separation from the Creator, trapped in mind bondage. Master manipulator, the King Pimp, the hellish blueprint earthly pimps adhere to.
Even the strongest among us can be led astray. He’s a groomer, a gravedigger, a deceiver. The father of lies, whose sole purpose is to kill, still and destroy, who targets man, whom God made in His own image—Imago Dei.
We are in the wilderness of our emotions; his business is to feed off us and often tosses in ingredients such as shame and guilt to enhance his dining pleasure. Our heavy-laden life is an opportunity to torment us with tales of doubt. Doubt about the love and goodness of God. Satan asks, "what has God done for you lately?” Does this ring a bell?
In the garden, he inquired of Eve,
"Did God truly say you cannot eat from any tree here?” Thanks to God, he cannot perceive the thoughts of man. By observing man’s actions and the words we speak, he gains insight. Twisting the thoughts of the weary, weak and worn-down individuals.
He confirms what you tell yourself; you are the client, and the John. We get paid from ourselves to sell ourselves. His seductive charisma has the power to disarm the toughest critics. He has a serpent tongue and tries to destroy us for fun.
God, being our strength and shield, is our refuge.
He heals the brokenhearted and uplifts those who are oppressed, depressed, stressed, and pressed. In hindsight, we are taught via God’s word: We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. 2 Corinthians 4:8
As Christians, we are no longer slaves to sin. We have within us the power to overcome. The one within us is greater than the one in the world. The one who opposes God cannot control the children of light. We reject a darkness deeper and danker than our path. Light beckons at the end of the tunnel.
We walk through the valley of the shadow of death, under God’s protection, never are we camped out there. The Creator who spoke, ‘let there be light,’ does not leave us in despair. Heaven is a promise to all who put their trust in Him.
God’s radiance shines in the darkness and the darkness cannot extinguish it or understand it. Derail the falsifier, put on the full armor of God. He will fight for us; his rod and staff comforts us.
Let’s dress ourselves in faith and trust the one who cannot lie. Leave the street clothes to Him who prowls around in search those to devour. Instead, clothe yourselves in the righteousness of God, where love and mercy triumph.
Yet even for the heart who doesn't know where to turn, salvation for the spirit and soul await. God's heart has been poured out for mankind. Yes, you, even you, can be protected, loved, cared for and kept secure. He strengthens you in weakness and has a plan for all who seek Him.
He says, "Come all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28
To all who stop by to read my work, I'm appreciative ... truly and I am sincerely thankful you did!
